Mixed Media: Glove, string and paint

When Harbourfront flea market was still located in what is now the parking lot across from terminal building, I started to buy and collect old gloves. In 1997, I visited a friend in Mexico where I stumbled across many variations of hands rooted in traditional folklore. I was intrigued and began to alter a few of the cloth gloves in my collection and build paper mache hands. “Hand #1” is a variation made in the late 1990’s. It now seems congruent with my current work that references the aging process.
