These rattles that can be held in one’s hand and shaken. They are a continuation in a series of rattles I have been creating since 2000.  In traditional ceremonies of various cultures, rattles as noisemakers mark a rite of passage. They say, “I am here” and assert a physical and emotional presence within a certain space. This intangible, yet haptic experience intrigues and challenges me.
