WE is the third and final part of The Ewen Trilogy. As with those in the first two parts, these works are based on photographs Martin took of her husband, Ewen McCuaig, throughout the last year of his life. Included in this third part are photographs he took of her, and she took of herself.

The first part, Something Happened, an exhibition of 36 drawings of Ewen, exhibited at The Red Head Gallery in 2008, is now in the permanent collection of The Art Gallery of Ontario.

Part two, The Roses are just moving into Fabulosity, paintings, was shown at The Red Head Gallery in 2010. Several of the Fabulosity paintings will be shown at The Toronto International Art Fair at the end of this month.

With the WE, double portraits of the artist and her husband, Martin returns to drawing for what she feels is the last time.
