August 3 - August 20, 2022
Artist will be present on August 6 and 20, 2022 from 12-5pm.
The Red Head Gallery is pleased to present The sunlight that curved to meet me by Leah Garnett.
I grew up in the woods of Maine on the traditional lands of the Passamaquoddy and Penobscot peoples of the Wabanaki Nations. I have been learning about these woods, and forests in general, and one path of this study is looking at my relationship to the woods I lived within. The drawings in The sunlight that curved to meet me are reflections about how the forest has always helped me to find wonder and joy when I have not been able to. These drawings are a form of thanks to the forest of my childhood.
