Since 1997, Sue Lloyd’s photobased work has been exhibited and published in Canada and the United States. She is represented by Toronto’s S.P.I.N. Gallery and a co-founder of the Giant-S Collective. She received her M.F.A. from York University in 1997 and has received Visual Arts grants from the Toronto, Ontario and Canada Arts Councils. Her use of the photographic medium is in dialogue with other two-dimensional media such as drawing, painting and multiple frame work such as cinema and sequential art. Her work has been discussed in relationship to themes such subjectivity, representation and location.
