Jim Bourke is a Toronto-based figurative painter whose practice centers on the wax-based medium of encaustic. His work is known for its bold visual language and meticulous attention to gesture, with each painting developed through an iterative process that reveals the construction behind the final image.

He has participated in both national and international exhibitions.
