As part of our 2019 Summer Program, the Red Head Gallery is pleased to present, Multitude of Serendipity an exhibition which features recent work from artists Jenny Chen, David Cheung, and Jingyu Wang. A reception will be held on Saturday, July 27, from 2PM to 5 PM.
Repetition is found in various ways throughout this exhibition. Each artist finds harmony in expression through the usage of repetitive imagery and creation process. Visitors are invited to collaborate in a site-specific social installation entitled: Multitude of Heart.
BIOS
Jenny Chen received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from OCAD University in 2016, where she majored in Drawing and Painting and minored in illustration. Her exhibition history includes the Living Arts Centre (group), Toronto Media Arts Centre (group) and United Contemporary (solo). She is a recipient of grants from the Ontario Arts Council and Cue Arts Projects.
David Cheung is a multi-disciplinary artist who has exhibited in Canada and internationally at private galleries, art festivals and public museums. His artwork and projects address social issues and has involved hundreds to thousands of audiences as active participants. During the past decade, he has worked in Beijing and Toronto as an Artist, Curator and visiting scholar at The New Media Department of Academy of Art & Design, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
Jingyu Wang is an artist who recently works in oil with a focus on portraiture. Originally from China, Wang moved to Toronto over a year ago. While working as an artist in Beijing, she also worked as an arts instructor in Xi’An Academy of Fine Art. She currently teaches art in Toronto.
