The continuing investigation in Michelle Bellemare’s work is to articulate, through physical objects, what occurs when sensory and psychic experience defies language. These experiences are often moments of isolation, when the inability to communicate reinforces the, at times alarming, interiority of experience. Her approach is relational, experiential and phenomenological. Michelle Bellemare has exhibited nationally and internationally over the past decade in solo and group exhibitions. Bellemare’s current body of work attempts to construct conditions that lend form and voice to the psychological residues of contemporary experience.
