JAMES HEWITT
James Hewitt is the Founder and Director of The Run Gallery, a vanity showroom in Toronto’s West End, and is one of the city’s newest art dealers.
The gallery has featured art and objects by mostly local artists and makers since its inception in August 2020. The RUN began as an acronym: Radically Underestimated Narratives, exemplary of the underdog status of a black-owned business in a very competitive field; as well as exhibiting avant-garde artists and makers presenting a fringe and often marginal perspective.
The Run Gallery was a recent participant in Art Toronto, tabling at 6/Editions in October 2021. James Hewitt is also a practicing artist, disciplined in drafting with charcoal and Conte on paper.
