David Sylvestre graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1983, and attended the Banff Centre in 1984 before moving to Toronto in that same year. In 1990, he joined the founding committee of The Red Head Gallery and had three solo shows, Hand Signals (1991), The Pleasurist (1993), and Teenage Wasteland Gazette (1994). In 1995, he co-founded the From a Pit collective.

He now works in new media as the Creative Director of Interactive at We Are Tonic in Toronto.
