Material Thought

Material Thought is a foray into the sublime, transparency, dissolving boundaries between inside and outside, and the dramatization of surfaces as space between spaces. In utilizing the inherent semi transparent qualities of sheer linen and tissue paper in the construction of layers, as well as paint created from locally sourced pigments, I've endeavoured to create works that speak to the subtle power of materiality.

Cody Jonathan Dyck is a self taught artist and painter who currently resides in Toronto where he has contributed to commercial projects as well as private collections. Elemental and soothing, his work is centered on the use of raw materials.
