Bio
Quinn Smallboy is a member of the Moose Cree Frist Nation located in Northern Ontario at the Southern tip of James Bay. He is now based in London, Ontario. Quinn completed his MFA at Western University 2018.
Artist Statement
Currently, Smallboy’s artistic practice investigates what it means to be a ‘contemporary Indigenous artist.’ He says, “Specifically, I question how customary symbols and icons of Indigenous culture translate into painting, sculpture, and installation.”
