The Red Head Gallery is pleased to present Wall String Stairs, Tree Island Stars an exhibition by artist Leah Garnett.

The drawings and sculptures in Wall String Stairs, Tree Island Stars document Garnett’s interest in construction sites, in making spaces, and in the relationship between architecture and landscape.  One group of drawings depicts her father’s construction sites, and piles of recycled building material.  The drawings are then cut, folded, taped, and grommeted, to materially reference building tarps.  Building scraps from the constructions sites in the drawings become material for two series of sculptures.  Another group of drawings delineate space and landscape as abstract, structural forms.  The works in Wall String Stairs, Tree Island Stars developed during the process of designing a large architectural installation that Garnett will exhibit in 2017.
