My main concern for this series of work is how images and meaning are constructed through perceiving patterns of colour and light and dark. The notion of pattern recognition involves identifying a correspondence between a stimulus and information in memory. What interests me is how the perception of pattern, often with little information, triggers memory and allows the viewer to construct meaning. The frescos consider the ways we recognize, perceive and remember.
