The Red Head Gallery is pleased to present our winter rental exhibition, States of Souls, by artist Ehab Ghabra.

States of Souls focuses on the dispersion of people from their homelands and its’ affects on the human psyche. Each piece is layered using different techniques to represent the overlapping affects of deracination from forced immigration. Ghabra’s figures are connected through their shared experiences of displacement and isolation in a foreign place.

“I try to convey images of suffering that my country Syria and my country mates are up against. The horrors of war and the damage it leaves behind on one's, mind, body, and soul.

We are dependent on structure, which gives us purpose and security. As immigrants and refugees, we need to help each other overcome the obstacles we face and rebuild this structure to create a community that is supportive.“ - Ehab Ghabra
